Currawong Resources P/L is an Australian resources company that has been operating since 2014. It is 100% owned by Fosterville South Exploration Ltd, which is a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada (TSX:FSX). Fosterville South Exploration’s primary purpose, through its subsidiary Currawong, is to explore for high grade Victorian gold deposits.
Currawong’s key granted projects are the Lauriston Project and the Golden Mountain Project at Tallangalook. The Lauriston Project comprises the Lauriston, Malmsbury, Taradale and Blackwood East goldfields. Other projects that Currawong/Fosterville South hold as applications are;
- The Providence Project covering the Yea, Alexandra & Reedy Creek goldfields.
- The Walhalla Project covering various tenements within the Woods Point – Walhalla Belt.
Currawong Resources has entered into a purchase agreement with UK company ECR Minerals PLC (AIM:ECR) for the Avoca, Maryborough and Moormbool Projects subject to approvals.
All these projects have historic high-grade gold mines that were worked during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is the company’s view that there exists ample opportunity for the re-assessment and exploration of many of these historic gold mines.
